Emily Manheimer (Clarinet)
Emily Manheimer is a clarinetist in the Chicago area. Hailing from New York, she attended the Juilliard Pre-College program where she studied with Laura Flax. She then completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Northwestern University where she studied with Steve Cohen, J. Lawrie Bloom, and Leslie Grimm.
Emily is an active freelancer, and was recently the featured soloist in the Chicago production of “The Fossil Record”, a piece written and directed by the performance art collective Every House Has a Door. As part of this project, she performed Olivier Messiaen's "Abîme des Oiseaux (Abyss of the birds)”, the solo movement for clarinet from the famous Quartet for the End of Time.
When she’s not playing the clarinet, Emily is a user experience designer for the Bank of New York Mellon.
Lillia Woolschlager (piano)
Lillia Woolschlager is a pianist and oboist in the local Chicago area. As a freelance musician, she has played with various orchestras in the Midwest region including Northwest Indiana Symphony, Northbrook Symphony, Battle Creek Symphony, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She is an accomplished collaborative pianist, working with local university students and professional musicians throughout the city. She has performed with the Classical Music Chicago Foundation as part of the Rush Hour concert series, collaborating with world-renowned oboist Alex Klein, as well as the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series with many outstanding musicians. As a teaching artist and instructor, Lillia teaches group piano classes and individual lessons at the Merit School of Music, as well as running her own private studio for piano and oboe lessons. Lillia attended the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York, studying with oboist Dr. Anna Hendrickson and pianist Dr. François Germaine. She obtained a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Oboe Performance and Musical Studies with a piano pedagogy concentration. After graduating from the Crane School, she moved to Chicago to study with Alex Klein at DePaul University. Here she obtained her Master of Music Degree in Oboe Performance, while accompanying her peers on piano in recitals and chamber music performances. In her free time, she enjoys baking, painting, and hiking.
Katarina Ignatovich (Flute)
Katarina is an American born Latvian flautist who recently completed her third and final year with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga, Latvia, and went on to obtain her Masters degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She also participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program and continued her studies in Munich, Germany for a year. Now living in Chicago, Katarina is an active freelancer and plays with various orchestras in the area. She is a private flute instructor as well as a substitute teacher at several schools in the Chicago area.
